Challenges

1.1 Getting started

• Create a project on Overleaf.

• Choose your favourite animal and give your article an appropriate \title{ }.

• When you're ready, share your project with someone.

Bonus challenges:

• Find a random fact online about the animal you chose and type it in your LaTeX file.

• Add a short paragraph (a couple of sentences) explaining why you chose your animal.

• If you'd like to have your project featured on this website, please share a read-only link to your project on Slack: http://go.unimelb.edu.au/6mhi. If you're working as a team, please include your team name in the message on Slack, and tag your team mates using@teammate.

1.2 Figures

• Insert an image of your chosen animal using the figure environment.

• Give your image a clever and creative caption!

Hint: Don't forget to use the graphicx package.

Bonus challenges:

• Can you change the height and width of your image instead of rescaling it?

• Use the label to refer to your figure.

2 Lists and Tables

2.1 Lists

• Create a new section titled "Dinner party", and a subsection titled "Food and drinks".

• Create a(n unordered) shopping list of items you would buy to make a dish for your friends.

• Create a list of drinks to pair with your dish. Use the enumerate environment to order the drinks on your list from best to worst.

Bonus challenges:

• Add a nested list to one of your lists (how many levels deep can you go?)

• Change the symbol of one of the items in your unordered list to an asterisk (*).

2.2 Table of tables

• Create another subsection under "Dinner party" called "Tables".

• Recreate this table:

• Figure out how you can set the width of your table's columns (you may need to Google this one!) --- refer to the hints below if you need help.

• In your document, create a 3x3 bingo table for things that can happen on video calls (see Challenge 2.3).
